CRISIS HEALTH IMPACT

Essentials, Not Anxiety

CRISIS FUND RECIPIENT

“It’s been nearly six years since Cindy’s breast cancer diagnosis, but for her and her family, its impact never truly ended. Surgeries to restore function and confidence leave Cindy unable to drive, and she often must rely on her teenage son to transport her to appointments.”

Six years after her breast cancer diagnosis, Cindy still lives with the side effects of treatment. Unable to drive while she recovers from a life-changing capsulectomy and DIEP reconstruction, Cindy had to rely on her teenage son for transportation to appointments.

The reality is that effects of a cancer diagnosis can linger for years after active treatment ends, just like in Cindy’s case.

Funds from the BridgeWell Foundation’s crisis health fund assisted Cindy with utilities and medical bills while she recovered from surgery to restore function and confidence to her body.

“I have so many bills that keep coming in, and anxiety waiting for the medical bills to come in.”
