2025 was one of the biggest years in our organization’s history and our 2025 Impact Report tells the whole story.
A New Name, A New Chapter
After more than four decades as McKee Medical Center Foundation (established 1981) and, more recently, McKee Wellness Foundation, we became BridgeWell Foundation of Northern Colorado in November 2025. The name honors where we started while reflecting where our work has grown across both Larimer and Weld Counties. Last year also brought new leadership, with Nate Lamkin stepping into the role of Executive Director in May, building on the strong foundation laid by his predecessor, Kara Pappas.
New leadership. New name. Same unwavering commitment to our neighbors in need.
What Your Support Made Possible in 2025
Thanks to donors, volunteers, and community partners across Northern Colorado, BridgeWell approved $897,248 in grants and direct assistance in 2025. That includes:
- 72 families supported through a medical crisis, including 68 families kept safely housed through rent assistance
- 800 people trained in CPR, with 16 AEDs placed or replaced through our HEARTSafe Community Coalition partnership with Thompson Valley EMS
- 600 veterans helped through the Blue Star Fund
- 64 cancer patients supported with financial assistance
- 5 scholarships totaling $12,500 awarded to Northern Colorado students pursuing healthcare careers
- 38 local organizations supported through community grants
- 136 volunteers who gave 1,996 hours of their time — worth $72,135 back to our community
Real Stories, Real Impact
The report also shares the stories of Sarah, Robert, and Nicole (names changed to protect privacy) — three Northern Colorado neighbors who never expected to need help, and who found it here because of donors like you.
“We chose the name BridgeWell because it describes both our purpose and our promise,” said Nate Lamkin, Executive Director. “Every day, we see people facing health and wellness challenges compounded by financial hardship, isolation, and systems that are too difficult to navigate alone. Together, we can build bridges that will change lives today and strengthen Northern Colorado for generations to come.”
